A fusion of jazz and ballet movements, LYRICAL / CONTEMPORARY is storytelling set to music. Lyrical dance is expressive, subtle but dynamic. It’s focused on conveying musicality and emotion through motion. The unique style of dance is a balance of intricate, highly technical, and organic movements. The main element of contemporary is a greater range and fluidity of movement than conventional dance techniques.

Make your own music! TAP dates back to the early 19th century – it has grown and evolved over the decades from the original fusion of Irish solo step dance, English clog dance, and African dance movements. This style of theatrical dance is distinguished by percussive footwork that marks out precise rhythmic patterns on the floor. At DDF our instructors will help you create your own rhythm.

Since the 1950s jazz has evolved from a traditional dance with Caribbean roots into a performing art. It grew on Broadway into the new, smooth style that is taught at DDF today. JAZZ is one of the most popular styles because it’s energetic and fun: it has unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. Every dancer interprets the moves and steps in their own way making Jazz unique for each artist.

It’s not just a dance style, it’s an attitude and culture. Popping, locking, breaking, learn it all at DDF and shake it like they do in music videos. Our HIP HOP classes are always current drawing inspiration from top 40 hits. We offer classes for ages 6 and up, and we are also very proud to offer a “boys only” class so the guys can do their own thing without the girls.

This style seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics combining classical dance technique with precision gymnastic elements and tumbling. It’s defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Balance, flexibility, and strength are a must. ACRO is one of our most popular programs at DDF.

This DDF class focuses on improving the dancers’ core strength as well as flexibility and posture. From head to toe learn to push yourself, reach further, and elongate every move in STRETCH & STRENGTH. Overall you’ll increase your extension, grow your mental and physical stamina, and beautifully finish your movements.

It’s all about technique: developing your skills. Master your turns – make spins and pivots tighter and faster all the while in perfect control. Defy gravity – learn to use your own strength to vault yourself into the air while making it look effortless. In PROGRESSIONS also learn how to put together and execute a fluid series of floor combinations. At DDF, soar higher than the rest.
